I can't find the right keywords to dig up the right old stories in the
archives...
Long story very short: very young baby colicky, fussy, crying, spitting up,
you know the story, but gaining OK. Removing dairy helped some. Mom's been
on a total elimination diet for a few weeks now, beginnign with very few
foods (and still), while at the same time baby has been put onto stronger
and stronger acid blockers. (I'd like to see what baby is like without
them. I sure know that I can't sleep on these things, and they reduce
digestive enzymes...). All the tests were normal. No blood. We've explored
everything that goes into mom, added extra omega 3's to mom's diet (no fish
oil), tried probiotic drops for baby (non-dairy), and some other natural-
type ideas. Long-distance-runner mom couldn't slow down to try some
intensive kangaroo care. Baby is gradually a little better. Mom can't tell
whether it's the diet or the drugs... (and I don't have all the "powers"
over the situation that would be my favorite).
So she tells me today about two friends of hers who switched to formula and
now their babies are reportedly doing totally fine... If there's a time for
words of wisdom, now is the time. Thanks in advance for any advice. Linda
