I saw a similar mom this week...reasons for failure of lactogenesis 2
unclear, but with first baby never able to pump more than 20cc at a time.
Used SNS and hated it...refuses to try it again.
It seems that moms who are really motivated to supplement at the breast
long-term find the Lactaid easier to use. I think it is a little tricky to
get used to assembling it at first, but it allows the mom to nurse
discreetly in public while supplementing. It is also a lot more expensive
than the feeding tube and bottle set-up, though...so sometimes moms choose
to use the home-made supplementer at home, and a bottle when out and about.
