Hi Melissa,
Yes, this is a problem, they should be talking about risks of premature
weaning or health risks associated with not breastfeeding.
Frankly, I'm not surprised, especially given the recent discussion about
suitable slogans on Lactnet....if breastfeeding advocates keep talking about
breastfeeding as "an extra," "ideal", "special", "best" then sure as heck no
one else is going to see it as anything different!
