Sounds like a fabulous idea! - when I pick myself up off the floor after
fainting in horror at the notion of ABM logos on health professionals name
badges - if they are IBCLCs this is a clear breach of their code of ethics.
I would however encourage you to weissingerize the message. Breastfeeding
is not best. It is necessary for normal human growth and development. What
about 'born to be breastfed' or 'Human babies need human milk' or
'breastfeeding - a human right'?
Any other ideas for punchy slogans that normalise breastfeeding?

Subject: [LACTNET] Idea for World Breastfeeding Week--input please :)
The theme for WBW 2006 is
"Code Watch: 25 Years of Protecting Breastfeeding"
http://worldbreastfeedingweek.org/
I have an idea for promotion and would like your input.
Some staff members (nurses) in my small hospital wear retractable badge
holders (reels) with ABM logos on them.
I would like to raise some money and purchase retractable badge
reels/holders that have a breastfeeding slogan, like:
Breastmilk: Best Milk
And have a "BADGE EXCHANGE", the week of World Breastfeeding Week, while at
the same time provide education about the Code.
Do you think this is a good idea? If so, do you have any ideas for slogans?
Thank you for your input!
Sincerely,
Renee Mercier RN IBCLC
