Jean - It's good to hear that someone else had experiences like that! I do this
because my first was a 32 weeker that weighed 4 pounds - at birth AND at
her 2 week checkup. MANY MANY tears! My mother actually said "You better
put that baby on a bottle - or she'll have to go back in the hospital, wear ugly
clothes, and get an IV - in her head"
The next day, when I pumped and was going to give her the last bit of
breastmilk - I still believed it was best - I spilled the milk..and did the All
American Womanly thing to do - sat in the puddle of spilled milk - and cried,
literally over spilled milk! lol
"That baby" just turned 25, and I'm still angry that there was no one to show
me how to nurse a preemie without letting her starve and my milk supply
disappear. I was MUCH smarter by the second baby and he and the little sister
reaped the benefits! If I can save one woman and one baby that heart ache -
it's all worthwhile! Deb
