Jan, in my area, we may have more women who are overloaded with IVs during
labor and are edematous for weeks postnatally. Our induction/augmentation
rate is high; our epidural rate is over 95%. That could partially explain the
high oversupply issue for the women who deliver in Westchester/Putnam/Rockland
County.
Lee, refresh my physiology here -- why are you seeing more oversupply with
the abnormal birthing experience? Because they are pumping to get milk in --
hence over producing? Or is it something else?
