The thought here is that the mortality rate from meningitis will be lower -
and that's because when lots of different people feed the baby (or the
baby's bottle is propped), the caregivers are not really noticing the baby's
color, smell, affect, temperature...all those things that one breastfeeding
mother takes in as she cuddles and feeds and grooms her baby.
So - a "single server system" -- one mom, one baby, really a whole! saves
lives. And we know things about our babies on many, many levels that we may
not even "know" on a cognitive level.
