More anecdotal experience...
My mother was weaned at 6 months due to her mother's having a serious illness. Before that, she was exclusicely breastfed. She was thin, and started menses around 13 or 14 (can't remember exactly).
I was fed ABM, and began menses at 9. I was VERY skinny. Although I am on the tall side of average (I'm 5' 7"), I didn't hit 100 lbs. until I was at least 14. Very little breast development before menses, actully, I was rather "flat" until 17, when I started the birth control pill to lessen very frequent and heavy periods.
I think that the only factor that predisposed me to early onset of menses was the ABM. I was not overweight, was not fed soy products, exercised regularly and ate a very healthy diet.
Fortunately, the early onset does not seem to have negatively impacted my fertilitity. I seem to get pregnant at the drop of a hat!
