No, that's an old myth. Ear infections are more about the type of milk being
fed (cow's milk causing allergic swelling, and is naturally more
mucus-producing) than the baby's position. Propping a bottle while the baby
is lying down is clearly a problem (for a lot of reasons!). Milk doesn't
pool in the baby's mouth during breastfeeding.

Ear infections are caused by Eustachian tube swelling, allergic reactions,
milk pooling during bottle-feeding, and pathogens, and are 2-5 times more
common in formula-fed babies.
