Hi All,
The babies mentioned were 6 wks and 9 wks - if they are exclusively
breastfed couldn't it simply be that they don't need to be pooping every day
anymore??? We know that exclusively breastfed babies often slow down in the
pooping department starting around 6 wks and can go a few days to a couple
weeks (or more in some cases) without any pooping at all.
While I agree that perhaps it would be good to rule out other possible
issues, it may be the case that these babies are perfectly fine and Doc just
needs to be reminded of the stooling patterns of exclusively breastfed
infants.
Warmly,
Jaye
