Breastfeeding while pregnant is more common than you think. Not only
have I assisted many women who have breastfed while pregnant, I have
done so myself, through two pregnancies. Breastfeeding does not cause
miscarriage, although if a woman is prone to preterm labor, she may need
to wean if she begins preterm labor.
There may be some issues with milk production during pregnancy, although
this varies from woman to woman. Some women loose their milk
completely, while others have their milk change from milk to colostrum
sometime during the pregnancy. Because this mom's baby is very young,
she may have to give her baby more solids than she would if she were
not pregnant. If she continues to breastfeed as often as possible, then
she will more likely have a positive experience. She might want to
research some high fat foods and nutrient dense foods to feed, instead
of using the pretty much useless baby cereal. (avocado, banana, meats,
steamed veggies, etc.)
Women who breastfeed while pregnant often go on to tandem nurse, or
nurse two children of different ages. Again, I know many people who
have done this, and I have also done this. My daughter was 3 when when
my 2nd child was born (there was a 3rd pregnancy that resulted in a late
miscarriage, unrelated to breastfeeding). My older child went on to
breastfeed longer, and I had ample milk for both children.
The research I did when pregnant indicated that nutrients the mother
takes in goes first to the baby in the uterus, then to the milk, and
finally to the mother. It is important to maintain a nutritious diet if
you are nursing while pregnant.

Baby is onsomon some food and is healthy and well nourished. The mother is in tears over the thought of having to DC the BFing. We are limited on the WIC we can provide and the carnation good start and goats milk is not on the list. I don't think the Feds would approve of evaporated milk idea.

Would BFing pull to much nutrition from the mother and not have enough for the fetus if she increase Kcal, nutrition and take he prenatal MVI's. Will the utrine contrauterinefrom BF cause spontanious aspontaneousf the consinous is tconsensushat do we suggest she feed baby, goats milk, carnation good start, evaporated milk and H2O -you know the old fashioned formula?
