It is important to realize too  that Pitocin binds to albumin in the plasma 
(as does ASA and sulpha drugs) so  there is less albumin for the bilirubin to 
bind to, increasing the levels of  free bili in the plasma -- 
hyperbilirubinemia and increased levels of  jaundice.
 
So the scenario that Diane  mentioned is just a double whammy on top of the 
original  whammy.....
