She asked how soon she could expect a full supply - that I do not
know.

With an infant only 4 weeks old and still able to express milk with a pump,
she can see a surge in supply as quickly as 24 to 48 hrs. after resuming
frequent nursings. I've seen this many times. It's remarkably easy with a
newborn to bring supply back up with just a couple of days of frequent nursing. I
usually suggest every 60 to 90 min. around the clock with one stretch of a
max of 4 hrs at night. Once supply has surged I recommend two longer
stretches at night and then slowly allow baby to take over the cues during the day
not going longer than 2 hrs. until supply is awesome and baby is happily
wetting plenty of diapers and progressing appropriately.
