We had a major problem a while back with a hospital that loved nipple
shields & SNS's for every problem. The part that also bothered us (and I
didn't see in your post) was when they would "teach" the moms to hold the
SNS over their head and squeeze the bottle during a feeding. We would see
babies who would sort of latch on (mouth near nipple) and then wait for milk
to pour into their mouths. It was so hard to get them to suck at all.
