"We have a baby currently in NICU, that was given a diagnosis of
suffocation on mother's chest by breast tissue. .. Put to breast at some point in
cradle hold position. Mom draped baby blanket over baby's head for privacy,
with visitors present. At 1.5 hours age, baby found lifeless without pulse or
respirations, when her nurse pulled back blanket for observation.
If there is a diagnosis, shouldn't it be "suffocation under blanket"? If
this baby was formula fed and suffocated, would they blame the formula, no, they
would look for some inherent, genetic, or undetectable causation, or blame
the blanket... Sad situation made worse by blaming the mom's breasts. I'm not
saying this could never happen, but there are other reasons in this case which
 might pertain.
