I had a NICU mom who had some milk that would not freeze. It was suggested
that it may have been high levels of alcohol in the milk. It wasn't every
sample so it was a likely possibility.

In another list (Spanish) I saw a question from an LC that has a mom who
reports her milk will not freeze - even after a day in the freezer. One person
suggested she may have elevated proteins or salts if she had mastitis when
she pumped. Have any of you ever had this problem?

Jeanette Panchula, BSW, RN, PHN, IBCLC
