I did feel bad for the woman they chose to represent the other side. She
was unattractive and very inarticulate, coming off as uninformed and nasty (she
mentioned that it was OK for babies to breastfeed in the bathroom because
mothers didn't need to rub their breasts on the toilet seat before they fed
their babies! -- the audience gasped.)
We (DH and I) watched with great interest also. When she mentioned the
rubbing the breasts on the toilet seat, my husband and I both cried out OH MY
GOSH! Dh shook his head and couldn't believe she could suggest a thing. AS
IF!!! I too found the woman on the other side to be inarticulate and nasty.
She couldn't seem to get past the "idea" of breastfeeding. I wanted to scream
at the tv : YOU JUST CAN'T SEE THAT MUCH SKIN for gosh sake! I only wish the
question of seeing skimpy tank tops and such at her restaurant would cause
her as much displeasure. I doubt it...it is just the "idea" of a baby
eating. She truly is a sad and misinformed woman. I wonder what she will do when
(and if) she has a child of her own...I guess I could answer my own question
and say...formula feed, but hey when one has a child of their own, it is
funny how what's important changes dramatically, and the image she has now may
change with the birth of her own baby.
All in all, I believe the show was good for the NIP cause. I do admit I am
surprised...but pleasantly so.
