Referring to World Breastfeeding Week, WABA states that "Officially it is celebrated from 17 August. However, groups may choose other dates to make it a more successful event in their countries."
What I cannot find is a list of which countries celebrate World Breastfeeding Week August 1-7, and which celebrate it some other time.
Does anyone know of such a list?
I'll be happy to compile a list and post it back to LACTNET, as well as make it available on a website.
Just to cut down on the message traffic, I believe these dates are correct for the following countries, so unless I'm wrong there is no need to confirm:
August 1-7: Australia, Cameroon, Chile, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, USA,
October 1-7: Canada
So LACTNetters, when is World Breastfeeding Week in your country?
Thanks,
Dave Vaklyes
