I'm not quite clear on whether you mean 200 mg every three days or
800 mg every three days?
Dosing every three days is a newer method of induction treatment for
recurrent genital candidiasis,
http://content.nejm.org/cgi/content/abstract/351/9/876
However the doses for this treatment are typically each 150 or 200
mg, not 800 mg. 800 mg/day is often used as a dosage in
immunosuppressed individuals.
Hi -- thanks -- sorry I left the X out of my original listing. So, she has
been taking 200mgX4=800 mg. every 3 days for 12 days. Did not have recurring
candidiasis, had not had it at all, just was taking it prophylatically as
she was on antibiotics. NOW, having finished the 12 days, she HAS Thrush for
sure. So, if she goes back on the Diflucan -- is that still the typical way
it is now prescribed?? Thanks so much, Ann
