A number of people have asked about the origin of the statement from an old
Ross employee manual. This was emailed to me by a physician who had obtained a
copy of a legal ruling from a court case involving Ross. I have written the
statement in NABA's Executive Summary of Selling Out Mothers and Babies. It
is so disturbing to see nurses flocking to these dinners and fawning over the
formula salespeople when they come onto a unit. The dinners have been moved
offsite to make sure that the hospital cannot control what is said and cannot
be accused of wasting nurses' time attending sales pitches. This colossal
expenditure of money raises formula prices for the formula-feeding mothers who
ultimately have to pay for these dinners.
