Hello,
As a mother of twins who breastfed and used the pump to get my milk supply large, this is what I did:
put the babies to the breast when I awoke from my c-section, pumped 10 minutes after each nursing for the first 2 months - I would recommend just pumping after each nursing until the babies are about 7 or 8 pounds and very productive at draining the breasts. I had a huge amt of milk stored that I was able to use later. One important thing: WEAN from the pump, or you may end up with mastitis as I did, from abruptly stopping (when I had no one to help me and just couldn't pump any more.
