I wonder how this ice treatment was used??? Or did mother discard your
teaching and use only this treatment??? I've recommended an ice cube in a
damp washcloth, held to the tip, only long enough for nipple to become
erect - usually seconds - for over 30 years and never seen more damage to a
nipple. Today, of course, good off-center latch techniques make that
practice almost obsolete. However, when I find a baby who needs a
super-stimulous to the palate to initiate sucking, it can still be useful
along with good latch technique.
Just wondering.
