Hello All,
I have written before about the woman I am working with who was diagnosed with breast cancer during her pregnancy. The baby is now a few weeks old and the mother has resumed chemo therapy. The mother is pumping regularly to maintain her milk supply (plus feeding the baby in a manner that imitates breastfeeding and holding her all the time, lots of skin to skin) inorder to resume breastfeeding as soon as she is able. Meanwhile, she was wondering if it would be beneficial for her to drink her own pumped milk. She would be getting all the marvelous properties of breastmilk and a very watered down version of her own medication. I really did not know how to advise her. I have her permission to post. It is definately and interesting idea. What do you all think?
Thankyou so much,
Chayn Fogelman IBCLC Israel
