In regards to Norma's post requesting info on the research study re: the use of cabbage leaves, I would be most interested to see it myself.
  I have found in my practice that when cabbage leaves are used to reduce "engorgement"  the milk supply is significantly reduced, and/or never comes back!
  Hence, I am very cautious about suggesting the use of cabbage leaves unless it is for cessation of lactogenesis.
  (Well, except to apply it to my husband's swollen knees from time to time!)
