Thanks for your reply on WIC and it's politics. I want to clarify that I wasn't trying to discredit or bash the WIC program. I feel very strongly about what it does for women and children and bottom line is that by talking politics we don't get any closer to helping mother breastfeed. I shouldn't have brought it in the way I did seeing as it was a non issue and I should have had the for sight to know it would be a unnecessary hot topic.

Now that I have gotten myself into it, I admit that the information I gave was vague and only in order to not discredit myself I will say that what I was trying to articulate is that the government gets a kick back from all food venders involved in the WIC program. The rebates to the government from the formula companies are larger because they have a corner on the market from the bids placed to the government for contracts as to which companies mothers will be able to get their formula from.
This is at least the information I was given on the subject for a WIC source.

Thanks again for your reply and my I emphasize again that I am on *your* side being involved in WIC breastfeeding support myself.

Genuinely,

Alia Heise
