No food or drink in patient care areas is actually a mandate of JCAHO -
based on a VERY poor case study of ONE case of hep A or B - I don't recall
which. It doesn't apply just to the NICU, it applies to ALL units. 

So why is it that the patients are allowed to eat and drink?
