Hi Kate,
Is the husband/partner being treated? All family members often need to be
treated.
Also, deep pain non resolving with yeast treatment may be bacterial.
Another thought...if the treatments are not healing the outside skin
(burning, peeling, redness, flakiness, soreness, etc.) She could be
having a reaction to something being used. Had a client who's family
physician referred her to a dermatologist, two-three weeks of miconozole
were irritating her skin, making it worse. (She had the correct APNO and
over the counter recipes for him to see but he decided to have her use
only one component, preferring to be conservative.)
She may have one or a combination of other skin conditions, not being
yeast at all. After two weeks of treatment it is good to refer to a BF
friendly dermatologist who might know better what is going on than her
ob/gyn or family physician, since this is their area of expertise. (Thank
you, Linda Smith) Something the above mentioned doctor did, but perhaps we
can offer this suggesstion before she gets to see her doctor again and she
will discuss it with him/her or go on her own.
Good luck,
cheryl
