Dear All
As part of a quest to collect information on HIV and breastfeeding, I have
come across a finding by Drs Kline and colleagues, that a baby infected
with an African sub-type of the HIV virus showed false-positive on a US DNA
PCR HIV test (Ref: Kline NE, Schwarzwald H, Kline MW. False negative DNA
polymerase chain reaction in an infant with subtype C human
immunodeficiency virus 1 infection. Pediatr Infect Dis J. 2002
Sep;21(9):885-6. Pediatr Infect Dis J. 2002 Sep;21(9):885-6).
I would like to learn more. I have a corresponding author address from one
of several related papers as <[log in to unmask]>, but my
email has been returned.
Can any Lactnetters help me out? Does anyone know of Dr Mark Kline, or Dr
NE Kline? Or the doctors at Texas Children's Hospital? Perhaps some of
his colleagues are still there? He has also published, from 1994 on, with
colleagues named as Kozinetz CA, Lewis DE, Hollinger BF, Reuben JM,
Rosenblatt H, Hanson IC, Hammill H, Shearer WT, Dimitrov DH.
I would appreciate any leads.
Thanks in advance,
Pamela Morrison IBCLC
