I have read this story from Meredith F. Small's book Our Babies,
Ourselves (chapter 6 Food for thought, page 178). At first Small tells
how she is visiting Diane Wiessinger's house and asks her why women have
to be taught to breastfeed. For an answer Wiessinger offered story about
female gorilla who has wrong nursing position until she observe
breasfeeding humans.
Hope it isn't urban legend because I also used it for an example in my
breastfeeding guide, published in Finnish about one moth ago. Must
admit, it could be...
And now, when I first time write here something I want to say hi and
thanks for amazing list. Full of knowledge and wisdom, fun and joy..and
life beyond breastfeeding bubbles under. I can hear it!
