My daughter Amanda was a missed SIDS, 27 years ago, I found her not
breathing and was able to revive her. She was diagnosed with severe sleep
apnea and was put on the apnea monitor, for 2.5 years. On nights when I
wanted to run out of the house screaming because the monitor was going off
10-15 or 20 times I finally figured out that if I picked her up and BF she
had no apnic episodes. So the child I planned on BF for 3 months was BF
for 2.5 years. SHe did sleep in a crib right next to my bed, no alarm on
the early monitors if there was a disconnect. I bought a Lazy Boy
recliner and slept with her there for months.
