I'm working with a very motivation exclusively pumping mom. Her son is
4mo and latches maybe once per day, but never when hungry. I checked
his mouth. He is orally pretty defensive though not as bad as he used
to be (had a nasty ng tube experience due to beta strep disease at
birth). Has an anterior to posterior seam in his soft palate, but no
hole. He is also missing a uvula.
I checked Riordan and didn't find anything about this kind of oral
anomaly. Mom's biggest question is whether he will ever be able to
latch.
Please clue me in; references appreciated.
