This is off-topic to the posts about SID and the OT's lack of
information/education about the benefits of breastfeeding a child with
SID -- but I wanted to share my similar experience with my younger
daughter's speech therapist when my dd was 3 and still nursing. She told me
that she suspected her continued nursing was contributing to her
difficulties with articulating certain sounds and she encouraged me to wean.
I did wean -- from speech therapy. My almost 6 year old, however, is still
nursing and can enunciate everything but her "r's, which is
age-appropriate - and, I think, very cute:)
Julie Rosen, LLLL, CD, PCD, LCCE, whose daughter can say "L'Chaim" before
nursing!
