One of my favorite, classic type articles is "Risk in Mother-Infant
Separation Post Birth" by Jean Cranston Anderson. Image: Journal of Nursing
Scholarship, Vol. 21, No.4, Winter 1989, pp. 196-199. There are some good
ref in there on crying. Crying is similar to the adult Valsalva manuever
and tends to keep the foraman ovale open, when it is supposed to be closing.
She also mentions intercranial hemm. R/T crying in Full term babies! Hope
someone has some newer ref for you, but these are very convincing. Contact
me if you want a copy. Pat in SNJ
