I just wanted to clear up some misinformation in this post - the writer 
states:

"It is ironic that WIC supports breastfeeding this way,
seeing as it is almost entirely financially supported by formula companies 
and
if we actually had all WIC moms breastfeeding we wouldn't have funds to even
have a WIC program."

This is not true - the funding for WIC is federal money, the same pot of 
money that funds food stamps and school lunch.  WIC does receive formula at 
a deeply reduced price (they are rebated from the formula company that wins 
the contract), but does not take any money from formula companies.  
Actually, WIC is more breastfeeding friendly than many American hospitals in 
that regard - they don't allow advertising of formula, don't accept gifts 
from formula companies, etc.

If all WIC moms were to breastfeed, there would actually be more money to 
serve more woman and children, because the formula package is much more 
expensive than the food package
