Jeanne: Get out Marsha Walker's booklet: "Selling Out Mothers and Babies" .
It's chocked full of all you need, with references.

Subject: Re: Normalcy of formula discussion inhibiting breastfeeding
Susan,
You might find some good information from the fact sheets available =
through INFACT.
http://www.infactcanada.ca/FactSheets.htm
See especially "Breastfeeding Protection and International Code", =
"Information on Global Strategy", and "What you need to know about the =
International Code."
I remember reading a WHO document titled something like "In defense of = the
Code" or "Justification for the Code" or something like that, and = now I
can't find it. If anyone remembers how to find that document, = perhaps you
would post it to the group. The document included = references, if I'm not
mistaken.
Good luck in your work.

So are there any studies out there showing the
normalization of formula has a detrimental effect on breastfeeding =
initiation rates? I'm sure the companies have it. However, I don't = know
if they would give it to me.
Thanks in advance,
