Oh yes, that smacking sound is the cause! And certainly 10 days of a lousy
latch can wreck a mom's nipples...just a few days is plenty. Pumping to
"rest" the nipples will help, but the latch will also have to be fixed or it will
go right back to painful, bad latch. Checking the numerous archives on the
asymetrical latch will be helpful also. The mom might also benefit from some
of Dr Jack's APNO if her nipples are looking infected. Good luck and glad
this momma is seeing you!
