Last week I wrote about how the Twin Tiers Breastfeeding Network is
accepting nominations for awards to companies and institutions who
offer support to nursing mothers.
This afternoon I received a phone call from a woman who wanted to
nominate *her client* for an award. After she gave me her email addy
so that I could send her a form, I asked who she wished to nominate.
The answer was, *Nestle formula company* (Her words.)
Sooo....
After I picked my jaw up from the floor, I asked where she was calling from.
*California.*
I explained that this was a LOCAL award, not a national one.
She was SURE that there was a plant in my area... oh.. and WHERE did I live?
So I thanked her for her time and put down the phone.
OK, I know there are formula company reps lurking on this list...
She could have got this info from Lactnet, or from the newspaper
article (via a clipping service,) but what on earth made her think we
would give an award to a formula company?
shaking my head, norma
