Joan mentioned a baby being bottlefed because of hypoglycemia,
which pushed another of my buttons. I would like to know what is
the policy in most US hospitals re bfing and hypoglycemia and
bfing and physiologic jaundice. Has anyone like the APA suggested
glucose/bilirubin levels at which bfing is recommended to be
discontinued? I'm having difficulty with neos at my hospital who
claim that they support bf, but at the first crunch, run for the
bottle. For every reference I show, they come up with a counter-
ref. Some docs are better than others, of course, and they've
come a long way from pulling babes off the breast at a 13
bilirubin. I have to check about hypoglycemia policy. Thanks for
input. Y'all are great. Judy Knopf
