Greetings:
I am moved to respond to the angry baby discussion, espicially after reading
Susan's post...I am an adoptee and have also read the Primal wound and have
discovered for myself based on my personal experiences and recent
experiences in recovery that I was aware of going's on in the womb and that
some babies are able to express themeselves after birth, others are not.
The suggestions to soothe the baby, and try to console and to emit empathy &
understanding can only do unassessable good. I cannot imagine how my
perspective on life would have been different if my adoptive mother had had
this type of information, encouragement and understanding. My sister also
adopted from another family was the ballistic one....we both have lots of
issues that we are both recovering from. I know this sounds ludicrous that
I have gotten intouch with feelings and memories I had prenatally, but I
know what I know. I don't think I am placing adult understandings on an
immature human being and there is certainly plenty of accuracy to the
characteristics of the hypersensitive infants, I guess part of this comes
down to where your spirituality lies and what we can clinically observe over
the course of the baby's and child's life.
Also---Thank you all for all the discussions about IBCLC certification, it
has been very informative and motivating.
