Never seen it used but I have seen a receiving blanket
used when mom is nursing.  Some women are very modest
and feel more comfortable when shielded from others. 
Personally, I thing it is just another "gadget" to
cash in on having a baby.  But if a mom really feels
she needs this to BF in public, so be it.  At least
she is BF.
