The amount of marijuana is a piece of information that is missing. Is
there any way you can find out if the woman is taking a couple puffs
once or twice day--in which case a tiny bit more exposure through
colostrum would be relatively unimportant, or whether she is a
heavy-use, all-day stoner?
Is the adoptive mother planning to breastfeed also?
First of all thanks to all who responded, here and privately. The adoptive
mom has not been able to find out much other than that the birthmom is smoking
The adoptive mom is planning on putting baby to breast, with device for
supplmenting, but was not interested in trying to actually bring in her own
supply, ,or at least has not wanted to talk about that with me. We are meeting
Monday, and baby is coming by CS on Thursday. She just called me last week for
the first time. The second time she called, to set up time to come over to
work through using the device and learning paced bottlefeeding, she told me
about the marijuana. Turns out she did not breastfeed first child. Thanks again
for all the info. I think mom will be very happy to get so much info in making
her decision.
