I saw the NBC nightly news report on Ferber's new stance Tuesday
night. I was excited when they announced what was coming next, but
then they chose to feature the mother of a 7-week-old baby who's
trying to find ways to get the baby to sleep through the night
(despite mentioning that Ferber recommends his methods for babies 6
months or older). Yikes!
I also wanted to mention that a few years ago there was a lengthy
article in the New Yorker magazine about Ferber and sleep training. I
believe it included an interview with him, and at that time he also
said his book was misunderstood . . . so it's nothing new. I tried
searching the New Yorker site but couldn't find the article, nor did I
find a mention of it in the Lactnet archives, but it was a great read!
