I found the question on the list of FAQs on the iblce.org website.
It's last on the list. Because of some security setting that I haven't been
able to find yet, my computer won't let me open these links.
So what does it say?
I don't understand how we:
1. can go to an ABM-sponsored seminar but bring our own lunch
2. cannot be a paid speaker at an ABM-sponsored seminar - not that I would
want to.
3. if the ABM sponsorship is discovered too late, the speaker makes an
immediate and clear disclaimer
4. but CAN? work for an ABM company? as in: the ABM company benefits from
the IBCLC's work product and the IBCLC receives payment for that work?
(Yes, I have a copy of an ABM company's fancy booklet for employers on
setting up a work site breastfeeding support program.
First author listed on the inside back cover is an IBCLC.)
Would really appreciate a clarification.
All the IBCLCs I personally know would never go along with #4, and one who
turned down a $3,000 job when she learned of the ABM sponsorship.
Please say it isn't so....
