Lisa has advised us that to make sure if we wish to challenge the  Federal 
Trade Commission that we also write to our own senators and house  
representative regarding the formula advertising issue. This is a very potent  way to start 
removing barriers to breastfeeding. I would suggest we combine both  
approaches. A letter to the FTC with the complaint and letters to our federal  
legislators describing the problem and asking them to contact the  FTC requesting 
that the problem be addressed.
 
The FTC has primary responsibility for regulating food advertising while  the 
FDA primarily regulates food labeling.
