I agree.  I have seen this in working with families with food sensitivities,
as so many of the issues run in families.  For example gluten intolerance
issues can cause slow growth and is also genetically linked -- so we ask the
mother if she or baby's father was small, or anyone else in the family and
then reassure her that the baby is just fine - maybe, but perhaps this is a
family of undiagnosed celiacs.  At a LLL meeting a mother actually announced
that dark circles under the eyes run in her family!

It seems as if we may have accepted a whole host of issues as 'normal' when
in fact they are no more normal than frequent ear infections in infants.
