and I
wonder about Gentian Violet - but have heard that it's not safe to use and
that it's an 'old fashioned' recipe for thrush? Does anyone know about this?
Dear Colleagues:
I like this old fashioned remedy; it penetrates skin layers and will
react with more than one type of Candida.
It needs to be used sparingly, otherwise a chemical burn can develop.
What has worked in the past was for mom to pain her nipples, areolas and the
baby's mouth once every third day for three times. Other practitioner's have
recommended painting the involved skin and mucous membrane just daily for a
week.
The reports of harm originally came from workers in the factory where it
was made, who were exposed to enormous amounts of the active principles.
