It sounds like one of those "everybody knows" type of beliefs.  Very hard 
to convince them otherwise without an alternative (and compelling) belief 
to take its place.

This last one is not supportive of breastfeeding through pregnancy.  I'd be 
interested in hearing the true experts' (that's you all :-)) opinions on 
the topic.
