Kathy,
Can you use a cheap alternative like a long 3 or 5 french feeding tube
in a bottle of milk? One tube can last a long time, and the stiffer tube
allows it to be slipped into the corner of the baby's mouth once they
are already latched. With low income moms that can't afford a Lact-aid,
I give them a tube or two and a syringe to clean it with. It costs me
about $5, which I can manage. If the mom hangs in with that, perhaps you
can switch her to an SNS. You could say "we start with the simple tube
to see how you and baby like it."
