Has she tried using a nipple shield? I know he may be a bit old for this but
sometimes when there are issues with latch and baby is "used" to a bottle
(as well as preterm), I've seen some good results with a nipple shield. I've had
a few other situations lately where shields were an option considered -
where they "should not have been used" - and they worked wonders. If the
alternative is a shield or not being at the breast, most of the moms chose using a
shield.
