The Breastfeeding Answer Book (Third Revised Edition) Says on Page 36:
"During the first six weeks or so, typically babies have at least six to eight wet cloth diapers per day (five to six disposable diapers) and at least three to four stools the size of a US quarter (2.5 cm) or larger (Shrago 1998)."
the next paragraph:
"Most newborns need to be breastfed an average of eight to twelve times in 24 hours(AAP 1997). Some babies nurse less frequently while others nurse more frequently. Less or more frequent nursing is not a problem unless the baby is not gaining well."
